New PS5, PS4 Games This Week (5th September to 11th Septe. Sorry for writing a mini essay to you, I just really love Mafia lol Now that I think about it if I wasn't a huge fan of the original I would probably love the remake like everyone else, unfortunately they made too many changes to things I feel like shouldn't have been touched. But I can appreciate some of the changes that were made to flesh out some of the missions and especially the changes done to the city. There are some video game franchises whose longevity is perfect. I already explained Paulie and Ralphie, but Tommy and Paulie also don't seem as close of friends as they were in the original because Paulie went from a easy-going guy that looks out and cares for everybody in the family to a straight up sociopathic jerk (keeping it PG13 for the mods).Īll in all the remake is a sharp tonal shift from the original and imo not for the better. A new Mafia game is reported to be underway at the series’ original developer, after three new IPs were cancelled by publisher 2K. To me the original personalities are the ones that are more fleshed out, and had far better connections to each other than the remake where it seems more like a clash of personalities. He doesn't show any animosity towards Ralphie and treats him as a friend while in the remake there's clear animosity and hatred between the two, and it seems to me it stems from a very ignorant and hateful view from the new Paulie which goes completely against his entire character in the original.ĭon Salieri went from the old wise Italian grandfather figure to an Italian-American uncle that's hopped up on way too much caffeine. In the original Paulie makes one remark early in the game that Ralphie is an idiot but has a way with cars. Mafia 4 will be released in 2021 but it will come back for consoles of the new generation. 2K established Hangar 13 in 2014, and Haden Blackman had led the studio until now. Fri 6th May For me it seems Paulie went from a goofy, easy-going guy (kinda like the class clown) in the original to a sociopath that hates Ralphie because of his disability. We have consoles of a specific generation. Includes 3 items: Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Mafia III: Definitive Edition. The intention is reportedly to develop Mafia 4 using Unreal Engine 5.For now, we’ll have to watch out for more updates.
NEW MAFIA 4 SERIES
Hopefully, any fourth outing for the series will see this balance redressed. However, the most recent entry took the series away from its roots in great storytelling and tried to offer a more typical open-world gangster game, bearing more similarities to the Grand Theft Auto series than either of the first two outings did. While Mafia 3 didn’t score well in our review due to a slightly bloated and repetitive open-world, there was still plenty to love. Mafia 2 particularly had moments worthy of the cinema and all three games have been thoroughly enjoyable. The three installments we’ve had have had a real focus on narrative storytelling. So, why all the excitement about a single tweet? Well, the Mafia series has been one of the most consistently entertaining open-world game series’ going.
We’ll be watching the Mafia social media accounts closely as more information is unveiled. However, it’s not unlikely that a remaster of the first game could be what’s on the way. With the next generation of consoles on the way, in the shape of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it could be that the series is pitching an all-guns-blazing next-gen return.
NEW MAFIA 4 FULL
Either would be interesting, but we’re hoping for a full sequel and most fans seem to be too. Now, fans are arguing about whether this means the series is going receive a full sequel in the form of Mafia 4, or whether it’s likely to be a remaster of the previous titles. We saw a similar stunt recently from the Crysis Twitter account. The tweet simply read: “Family.” So, there’s not an awful lot to go on there, but there is bound to be some motivation for bringing the Twitter account back to life. Fans are already speculating as to whether this could mean a return for the series – and whether we could see Mafia 4 anytime soon? Having not said a word in two years, the official Twitter account for the beloved Mafia franchise came back to life yesterday.
